How They Met in 1947
It was a long drive from Owosso to Flint, but Jewell along with her daughter Barbara made it to visit a sick friend in the hospital. I was late afternoon before they could leave as Barbara was still in High School and visiting hours were late afternoon anyhow.
after the hospital visit Jewell decided to go visit with her friend Verba from the factory they both worked in. Owen and his friend Maynard were getting ready to go to the movies and Owen asked Barbara to go along. he and Maynard normally snuck into the theatre because they liked to flirt with the usherettes. but this night was different. he had an impression to make on a beautiful girl he was lucky to be with. They saw the movie ********* and he was smitten!
Jewell and Barbara spent the night with the Miracle family and that was the beginning of the end for Owen. He spent many hours driving to and from Owosso to see Barbara.
