The Stranger

The Stranger That moment when you walked up to me I felt the tremors in my knees I did not know if I could speak Or if my voice would be strong or weak. I felt the flutter in my heart Hoping that we might never part. You held out your hand to me As you dropped to bended knee. In that moment I knew our fates were sealed.

Christmas

It turned out to be a very cold Christmas Day at my house.  Our power went out on Christmas Eve morning at about 3:30 am and was not restored until Christmas Day at 7:45 pm.  Over 4000 homes and business in my area were without power and some homes still our.  I am thankful that I had access to a generator and was at least able to save my groceries, have lights and turn on the TV for news and entertainment. Christmas 2015 Spending Christmas home alone Is nothing new or odd to me. But spending Christmas in the cold Gets to be very old. Yet, it is still, a Christmas to remember. I penned this short  30 word poem for a contest in my poetry group.    Will always be a reminder of the Christmas of 2015.

The Visits

I started this poem several years ago.  Had it as a draft on a web site I am a member of.  I only found it by accident. Mom She came by for a visit last night she didn't stay long or ask for a bite she sat in a chair and smiled at me I so wanted to sit at her knee. Place my head in her lap And try not to cry like a baby. I miss her so much, it's been a long time she no longer walks with us, only in my mind.

Christmas Tree

Christmas Tree We have a Christmas Tree in our house Covered in pretty lights and bulbs. With sparkling tinsel dripping from the boughs. garlands of red and green paper chains and pretty strings of popcorn too with a special Angel blinking at the top. Just waiting for Santa to arrive With presents for all the good little girls and boys.
How They Met in 1947 It was a long drive from Owosso to Flint, but Jewell along with her daughter Barbara made it to visit a sick friend in the hospital.  I was late afternoon before they could leave as Barbara was still in High School and visiting hours were late afternoon anyhow. after the hospital visit Jewell decided to go visit with her friend Verba from the factory they both worked in.  Owen and his friend Maynard were getting ready to go to the movies  and Owen asked Barbara to go along.  he and Maynard normally snuck into the theatre because they liked to flirt with the usherettes.  but this night was different.  he had an impression to make on a beautiful girl he was lucky to be with.  They saw the movie ********* and he was smitten! Jewell and Barbara spent the night with the Miracle family and that was the beginning of the end for Owen.  He spent many hours driving to and from Owosso to see Barbara.

Christmas

Its about Christmas. See the lights of winter's snow and all the children's faces glow as the sounds of Christmas flows all around us so everyone knows. The cheer and love of Christmas time gives us hope and peace of mind renews our faith in mankind as we wish for peace and joy.

Music in My Soul

Music in My Soul You have awakened in me the music in my soul the notes I scale are the highs and lows I take each day and try to play the rhythms that touch my soul. The sour notes are sad And I try not to cry Tomorrow could be a high And I will be flying right by. This is just the beginning and I am planning on coming back to work on this soon.  This blog will become a holding place for me to work on multiple computers and still keep everything in an accessible place.
